The project is not designed to support young people or adults who were abused as children.
Areas Covered: The STAR Project covers the whole of the West Yorkshire area.

Initial Support Workers usually visit clients in their homes but can arrange to meet elsewhere if more convenient.

Counsellors work from various premises throughout West Yorkshire making them easily accessible. If we don't have a counsellor who meets your needs in your area, we can hire a room and bring someone in specifically.
Specific Requirements: The STAR Project has a range of ISWs and Counsellors, which means we can meet your needs in terms of gender, ethnicity and sexuality of worker.

In addition, we have a range of rooms available and can meet individual requirements in terms of disability.
Availability: The Project offices are open Monday - Friday 9.00am. - 5.00pm. All ISWs and Counsellors work a range of hours, enabling us to be flexible to your needs when making appointments. Some work during the days, some in the evenings and others at weekends.
How to make a referral:

If you have already reported the assault to the Police you will have been given a leaflet and asked to give your permission for your details to be passed through to enable us to contact you. If so, we will contact you, by phone or letter, within 48 hours of receiving the referral.

If you have not reported the incident to the Police, you can contact us on our Helpline number during office hours. There is a confidential answerphone, which can be used outside of these times. You can either refer yourself, or someone else can refer on your behalf. This may be a partner, friend, relative etc. If someone does refer on your behalf, we would always ask that you are fully aware of this.
